ARMOR PLATES

Every ballistic plate in the game, all 38 of them: class, effective durability, material, and live prices. The plate is the protection; the carrier just holds it.

Class is what the plate stops (a round needs roughly 10x the class in penetration to beat it). Eff. Dur is durability divided by material destructibility: ceramic hits hard but dies fast, UHMWPE and steel last. Check what your carrier accepts before buying.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best armor plate in Tarkov?

The NESCO 4400-SA-MC ballistic plate: Class 6 with 160 effective durability. For budget protection, the cheapest Class 5+ plate right now is the Korund-VM ballistic plate (Back) at about ₽39,051.

How do armor plates work in Tarkov?

Since the armor rework, carriers and vests are mostly pockets; the ballistic plate inside them is what stops bullets. Plates only cover their zone (front, back, or side), degrade with hits, and can be swapped between raids, so buying good plates matters more than buying a fancy carrier.

Are side plates worth using?

They add weight and only matter when you get shot side-on, but plenty of deaths are exactly that: getting flanked mid-fight. Most players run sides on slow, fighting-heavy kits and skip them on mobile loot runs.

Plates go in carriers: find the right one on the armor and rig charts.
